Es un orgullo que hayamos crecido hasta superar los 50 autores, consolidando este espacio. Si bien es cierto que algunos stands corresponden a tiendas que no se enfocan directamente en la novela gráfica (como “Pinku” o “Michiverso”), esto no disminuye nuestro entusiasmo. Por el contrario, nos impulsa a mantener la misma excelencia y dedicación editorial que nos caracterizó desde la primera edición.
This year marks a milestone: the celebration of the eighth anniversary of the el Salón del Cómic. I remember the beginnings, when we only occupied a modest hallway in the international area. Seeing its evolution to this day, where it is sometimes difficult to move through its crowded aisles, fills me with profound joy.
It is a source of pride that we have grown to exceed 50 authors, consolidating this space. While it is true that some stands belong to shops that do not focus directly on graphic novels (such as “Pinku,” or “Michiverso”), this does not diminish our enthusiasm. On the contrary, it drives us to maintain the same editorial excellence and dedication that characterized us since the very first edition.

Desde hace un par de años, el Salón del Cómic ha implementado dedicar el área a homenajear a una figura icónica del cómic internacional. Tuvimos a Mafalda, luego el año pasado a Condorito y en esta edición la protagonista fue la célebre novela gráfica francesa de Astérix y Obélix. 😀
Inspirado en una dinámica que experimenté en otro evento, quise replicar la idea de crear un sticker conmemorativo para el Salón del Cómic. Diseñé una imagen que fusionaba a Astérix y Obélix con mi propio personaje. Estos stickers fueron obsequiados a quienes visitaron mi mesa y a los asistentes a mi conferencia.
Invité a otros autores a sumarse a esta iniciativa :B. Si bien la participación fue limitada, confío en que esta dinámica se convierta en una tradición que enriquezca el evento año tras año. También algo que se me hizo super bonito, son las bolsas que nos regalaban a los autores que participábamos en las conferencias, LA AMO, todo el diseño gráfico de estos personajes me pareció fantástico.
For the past couple of years, the Comic Convention (Salón del Cómic) has implemented the tradition of dedicating the area to honoring an iconic figure from international comics. We featured Mafalda, then last year it was Condorito, and in this edition, the protagonist was the celebrated French graphic novel, Astérix and Obélix. 😀
Inspired by an activity I experienced at another event, I wanted to replicate the idea of creating a commemorative sticker for the Comic Convention. I designed an image that merged Astérix and Obélix with my own character. These stickers were given away to those who visited my table and attendees of my conference.
I invited other authors to join this initiative : B. While participation was limited, I am confident that this activity will become a tradition that enriches the event year after year. Something else that I found super beautiful are the bags that were given to the authors who participated in the conferences—I LOVE IT. All the graphic design of these characters seemed fantastic to me.

Para concluir el año, realicé la presentación formal de la novela gráfica de WildCats. Este proyecto ha estado en promoción activa desde su lanzamiento en junio y ha recorrido varios eventos, finalizando su gira en México en el Salón del Cómic de la Feria Internacional del Libro.
Debido a la gran carga de trabajo, en esta ocasión solo pude presentarme en el espacio de La Fábrica de Cómics. Mi meta para el próximo año es optimizar mi agenda para poder gestionar mi propio stand y presentar mis nuevos proyectos de manera más organizada.
A pesar de no contar con un stand individual, disfruté enormemente la experiencia de recibir a nuevos lectores en mi espacio. Les agradezco muchísimo por su visita y su apoyo.
To conclude the year, I held the formal presentation of the WildCats graphic novel. This project has been actively promoted since its launch in June and has traveled to several events, finalizing its Mexico tour at the Comic Convention of the International Book Fair (Feria Internacional del Libro).
Due to the heavy workload, this time I was only able to present myself in the “La Fábrica de Cómics” space. My goal for next year is to optimize my schedule so I can manage my own stand and present my new projects in a more organized manner.
Despite not having an individual stand, I enormously enjoyed the experience of welcoming new readers into my space. I thank them very much for their visit and support.

Siendo honesta, la estructura del Foro Rius para las conferencias de este año resultó ser un punto a considerar.
Aunque el escenario se amplió —asumo que para albergar las impresionantes figuras de Astérix y Obélix—, esto generó un espacio excesivamente grande entre el podio y la audiencia >_<. La zona de asientos se percibía visualmente vacía y desordenada, hasta durante la inauguración, algunos asistentes tuvieron que sentarse en el suelo por falta de sillas.
Esta distribución fue francamente incómoda. Tener a los asistentes tan distantes siento que restó calidez a la interacción y, visualmente, no fue la mejor presentación para las conferencias (en mi opinión), incluso mas para aquellos autores que no llenamos el foro como las figuras más conocidas.
Mi deseo es que para la próxima edición se reevalúe este diseño, buscando un formato más compacto y eficiente que fomente una conexión más cercana con el público… o volver a colocar las sillas que quitaron. :/
To be honest, the structure of the Rius Forum for this year’s conferences turned out to be a point to consider.
Although the stage was expanded—I assume to house the impressive figures of Astérix and Obélix—this created an excessively large space between the podium and the audience >_<. The seating area looked visually empty and disorganized; even during the inauguration, some attendees had to sit on the floor due to a lack of chairs.
This distribution was frankly uncomfortable. Having the attendees so distant, I feel, detracted from the warmth of the interaction and, visually, was not the best presentation for the conferences (in my opinion), even more so for those authors who don’t fill the forum like the most well-known figures.
My wish is that for the next edition, this design is reevaluated, seeking a more compact and efficient format that encourages a closer connection with the audience… or that the missing chairs are put back. : /

Algo que me gusta de la FIL es este muro de Ilustradores, donde varios dejamos stickers o tarjetas para que la gente nos conozca : D por supuesto, dejé los mios.
Something I like about the FIL (International Book Fair) is this Illustrators’ Wall, where several of us leave stickers or cards for people to get to know us : D I, of course, left mine.
Este año, el Encuentro Internacional de Caricatura e Historieta (EICH) reconoció a la caricaturista y artista visual colombiana Elena Ospina como la ganadora de esta edición. Su trabajo destaca por una estética sutil y potente, combinando humor, reflexión y crítica social de una forma que invita al espectador a mirar el mundo desde nuevas perspectivas.
Un dato que celebro es que Elena Ospina se convierte en la tercera mujer en recibir el Homenaje de Caricatura La Catrina. Es un paso muy significativo que más mujeres caricaturistas estén siendo consideradas y galardonadas en este tipo de encuentros. 😀
This year, el Encuentro Internacional de Caricatura e Historieta (EICH) recognized the Colombian cartoonist and visual artist Elena Ospina as the winner of this edition. Her work stands out for a subtle and powerful aesthetic, combining humor, reflection, and social critique in a way that invites the spectator to look at the world from new perspectives.
A fact that I celebrate is that Elena Ospina becomes the third woman to receive el Homenaje de Caricatura La Catrina. It is a very significant step that more women cartoonists are being considered and awarded in this type of encounter. 😀

Un detalle que me encanta es la ya tradicional presentación de títeres elaborados por los alumnos del CUAAD con los personajes de la artista homenajeada. Es un acto muy bonito que llena de color y humor la ceremonia. En serio ¡me encanta!
A detail that I love is the now traditional presentation of puppets created by CUAAD students featuring the characters of the honored artist. It’s a very beautiful act that fills the ceremony with color and humor. Seriously, I love it!

Con el objetivo de fortalecer la comunidad de creadores, este año tomé la iniciativa de abrir un grupo de WhatsApp para los autores del Salón del Cómic, con la finalidad de facilitar la comunicación, resolver dudas comunes y fomentar el intercambio de opiniones y consejos, algo que resulta sumamente enriquecedor. : D
Además, junto con Sara Miau de Casa Teodora, organizamos el primer After Party del Salón del Cómic. A menudo, las actividades del evento nos impiden convivir, especialmente con los colegas que viajan de otras ciudades o países. Fue un encuentro sumamente agradable. Me hizo muy feliz reencontrarme con viejos amigos y, sobre todo, conocer a gente nueva, incluidos artistas internacionales. Definitivamente, fue un cierre de jornada memorable.
With the goal of strengthening the community of creators, this year I took the initiative to open a WhatsApp group for the authors of el Salón del Cómic, with the aim of facilitating communication, resolving common questions, and fostering the exchange of opinions and advice, which is highly enriching. : D
Furthermore, along with Sara Miau from Casa Teodora, we organized the first After Party del Salón del Cómic. Often, the event activities prevent us from socializing, especially with colleagues who travel from other cities or countries. It was an extremely pleasant gathering. It made me very happy to reconnect with old friends and, above all, to meet new people, including international artists. It was definitely a memorable close to the day.
Así es como finalizó mis cuatro días del Salón del Cómic de la FIL de Guadalajara, espero verlos el próximo año : D
