I participated in the Guadalajara International Book Fair in the Salón del Cómic + Novela Gráfica discussion with the talented artists Ana Penyas and Maria Luque 😀 It was fascinating to talk about our work from different points of view as illustrators from other countries. At the opening of the Salon I met the Condorito cartoonist RUPA, it was fantastic because I have been reading Condorito comics since I was little [It is a very popular Chilean comic in Latin America created by the author Pepo] and meeting one of its cartoonists was exciting, of course I took my comic for him to sign, it was a unique opportunity 😀 Rupa is a very kind person with whom I could talk and socialize at the opening cocktail.

En la inauguración del Salón conocí al dibujante de Condorito RUPA, fue fantástico por que desde pequeña leo los cómics de Condorito [Es un cómic chileno muy popular en Latinoamerica creado por el autor Pepo] y conocer a uno de sus dibujantes fue emocionante, por supuesto me llevé mi historieta para que la firmara, fue una oportunidad única 😀 Rupa es una persona muy amable con quien pude hablar y convivir también en el Coctel de inauguración

At the Corda Ediciones publishing house booth, I finally met Ivan Mayorquin 😀 one of the members of the Grupo de Autoayuda de Dibujo. I have been following his content for years and I did not miss the opportunity to see and buy his book “10 cosas que hacer en caso de Ansiedad” which he worked on with Cinthya Mayorquin.

En el stand de la editorial Corda Ediciones, conocí ¡por fin! a Ivan Mayorquin 😀 uno de los miembros del Grupo de Autoayuda de Dibujo, llevo años siguiendo su contenido y no perdí la oportunidad de verlo y comprar su libro “10 cosas que hacer en caso de Ansiedad” que trabajó junto a Cinthya Mayorquin.

The publisher promised to bring Ivan and Raúl Pardo together next year so that they can both be at the FIL. I hope so, I admire them both very much and it will be great to meet Raúl too.

One of my purchases was the first volume of “Frilly Things” It is a group of Lolitas in Guadalajara who decided to publish their first Fanzine, in which you can also find all the information about this beautiful culture, clothing patterns, poems, beautiful illustrations and more!

I have always been a big fan of Japanese culture and cosplay and when I met this beautiful group of girls I was even more delighted to know that these groups exist in Guadalajara. I have known Sara Miau and Olyvia Spell for quite a few years and I’m very proud that they have brought this project to light.

Siempre he sido muy fan de la Cultura Japonesa y el Cosplay y al conocer a este grupo de chicas tan hermoso me encantó aun mas saber que en Guadalajara existen estos grupos, conozco a Sara Miau y Olyvia Spell ya bastantes años y estoy muy orgullosa de que hayan sacado a la luz este proyecto.

Continuing with the Comic Fair releases, my sister Vira Cabrera published the first review of her illustrated book “Soy Vira” My sister is a breast cancer survivor and, with her talent, she has decided to tell her story. In these pages, she expresses her experience physically and emotionally, of her process, which was quite difficult.
.
She plans to publish a complete book about this in the future. I’m very excited and proud to see her finished book, her drawings are super cute and she is a great fighter.

Continuando con los lanzamientos del Salón del Cómic, mi hermana Vira Cabrera publicó el primer review de su libro ilustrado “Soy Vira” Mi hermana es sobreviviente de cancer de mama y junto con su talento ha decidido contar su historia. En estas páginas ella expresa su experiencia tanto física como emocional de su proceso que fue bastante difícil.

Ella piensa publicar en un futuro un libro completo sobre este. Estoy muy emocionada y orgullosa por ver su libro terminado, sus dibujos son super lindos y ella una gran mujer luchona.

El Salón del Cómic turned 6 years old 😀 and it’s getting bigger and there are more and more talents that leave me speechless, it’s incredible what you experience there, the truth is, if you have the opportunity to attend, it’s something you shouldn’t miss, it’s an international event and sharing talent with other artists is a dream.

El Salón del Cómic cumplió 6 años 😀 y cada vez es mas grande y hay mas y mas talentos que me dejan con la boca abierta, es increíble lo que vives ahi, la verdad, si tienes la oportunidad de asistir, es algo que no te debes perder, es un evento Internacional y compartir talento con otros artistas es un sueño.
